Our Purpose

Built to help IMGs pass.
Not to exploit them.

AMC Academic exists because international medical graduates deserve better than what most preparation offers them. The content is high yield and the claims about it are honest.

What we do not do

No hidden fees, and no countdown timers on an offer that never really expires.

Our Origin

How AMC Academic started

In 2026 we kept meeting the same problem: international medical graduates could not find AMC Part 1 and IELTS preparation worth what they were paying for it. They were working through large platforms full of material the exam does not ask about, paying a high price for it, and losing months they did not have. Several of those platforms promised far more than they delivered.

These were doctors who had already completed medical training and practised medicine, being let down by the tools meant to get them registered here. So we built the thing we thought they should have had: preparation for IMGs sitting AMC Part 1 and IELTS, aimed at a first attempt.

What that means in practice: only content the exam asks about, analytics that name the specialties you are weakest in, and a team that has been through Australian medical registration itself.

The Mission

What we are here for

Help thousands of international medical graduates pass AMC Part 1 and IELTS on their first attempt, without wasting time, money, or energy on irrelevant preparation.

What we believe

High-yield preparation only

IMGs do not have unlimited time. Every question and explanation is here because the material appears on the exam, so the hours you put in are hours that count.

Honest about what it takes

No guaranteed-pass claims. Passing AMC Part 1 takes work, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What focused preparation changes is how much of that work lands on material the exam actually tests.

IMGs deserve better

International medical graduates are not second-class doctors. You have trained and you know medicine, and the tools you revise with should assume that.

Price should not decide it

Expensive does not mean better. The price is set so that cost is not what decides whether you sit the exam prepared.

We are not your competition

Candidates who share what worked make the next cohort better prepared, so the community side of this is not decoration. You are not doing it alone.

Vision

Where we are headed

Two goals for the next year or two:

Help thousands of IMGs pass at the first attempt. Through preparation aimed at what the exam asks, rather than through luck.

Cover the rest of the pathway. AMC Part 1 CAT and IELTS now, and the exams that follow them next.

Doctors who are prepared for the exam are also doctors who are prepared for the ward, which is the part of this that reaches past our own users.

Where this differs

Most preparation platforms try to serve every exam. This one was built for IMGs sitting AMC Part 1 and IELTS.

We do not teach all of medicine

Only the topics the AMC blueprint covers, so the weeks go on material that can appear on the paper.

Built by people who have sat these exams

The cost, the time pressure and what happens if it goes badly are all familiar to the people who built this.

Honest pricing

A plan runs for a fixed term and then ends. Nothing renews quietly, and there is no reason for us to keep you here longer than the exam does.

The question bank is not the whole product

Astra reads your own record, and the analytics name the specialties you are weakest in, so what you revise next comes from how you have actually been answering.

Both exams, one subscription

AMC Part 1 and IELTS sit in the same subscription, with Astra across both, so there is no second vendor to pay or second schedule to track.
