Respiratory · Question 700:42

A 34-year-old woman presents with pleuritic chest pain three days after a long-haul flight. She is tachycardic, her oxygen saturation is 94% on room air, and her Wells score is 6.

Immediate CT pulmonary angiogram
Commence therapeutic anticoagulation
CRepeat the D-dimer in 24 hours
DDischarge with outpatient follow-up
EVentilation-perfusion scan in the morning

Why B, and why not A

A high Wells score with hypoxia warrants empirical anticoagulation before imaging, unless bleeding risk forbids it. Every option carries its own explanation, so a lucky guess still teaches you something.

Reviews from IMGs and local graduates preparing for registration with AMC Academic.

Dr. Rohan Kapoor

"Going all around and trying different resources but could never prepare properly. Found AMC Academic and for the first time had a proper way to study. Took the May mock and realized exactly how much progress I made and cleared it in one attempt."

Dr. Ananya Patel

"June mock exam was similar to the actual test. This one sitting session proved to be more productive than weeks of practice and showed me my weaknesses. I went into the exam feeling way more relaxed than I would've otherwise."

Dr. Chinonso Williams

"Preparing for AMC alone is hard and stressful. My weak points became evident through the AI analysis and May mock. No longer felt lost and passed it on my first attempt. "

Dr. Shreya Gupta

"After i failed the first attempt a friend recommended me this platform. High-yield questions, month-specific mocks and the AI feedback showed my mistakes and I passed it the second time in July. Also used the time gap to study for English and passed that one too."

Dr. Nisha Sharma

"Passed AMC 1 in July using the high-yield question bank and month-specific mocks. During the three weeks wait, I shifted to the IELTS section and passed the English exam as well."

Dr. Hassan Mohamed

"I was new to AMC prep and bounced between a few platforms before finding AMC Academic. The high-yield questions and the June mock finally showed me where I actually stood. Passed on the first attempt."

The way it usually goes

You are not short of material. You are short of a way to tell what matters.

Recalled questions from a group chat

Free, and worth it. No answer key you can trust, no explanation, no way to tell a 2019 recall from something that was never on the paper.

A bank that teaches all of medicine

Thousands of questions with no view on what the AMC asks. Months spent on material that will never appear, and no signal about where you are weak.

A second subscription for IELTS

Registration needs both. Paying two vendors, tracking two schedules, and finding out in week six that your writing band is the thing holding you up.

What changes

Preparation you can see the shape of.

High-yield only

Revise what the exam asks about

Every question is here because it maps to the AMC Part 1 blueprint. The weeks you would have spent on material that never appears are simply not spent.

Every option explained

Understand why the other four were wrong

The explanation covers each option, not just the key. Getting one right by luck still leaves you knowing something you did not know before.

Mocks and analytics

Walk in knowing how you will perform

Timed month specific mock exams under real conditions, scored by specialty and topic, so exam day is a repeat of something you have already done rather than a first attempt to see how you would have performed in a certain month.

Astra

Ask a companion that has read your record

Your weakest specialties, what you last revised, where your IELTS band is drifting. Ask what to do next and the answer is about you, not about medicine in general.

How it works

Judge it on the questions, not on the sales page.

    Answer 20 questions

No account, no card. Real questions from the bank, with the full explanation on every option the moment you answer.

  2. 02

    See where you actually stand

Your result is broken down by specialty and topic rather than given as one score, so the gaps have names you can revise.

Before you decide

The questions we get asked most.

Yes. Twenty real questions from the bank, with the full explanation on every option, and no account or card. Nothing is charged until you choose a plan.

Included. Reading, listening, writing and speaking are all part of the same subscription, scored against the band descriptors. There is no second product to buy.

Over 2,800 for AMC Part 1, each with a worked explanation on every option rather than only the correct one, so a lucky guess still teaches you something.

No. Plans run for a fixed term of one, three or six months, and then end. You will not find a renewal you did not ask for on your statement.

The study companion built into the platform. It can read your own record: which specialties you are weak in, what you last revised, where your IELTS band is drifting. Its answers are about your preparation rather than about medicine in general.

Yes. The platform runs in any modern browser on a phone or tablet, including the timed mock exams and IELTS speaking, which records straight from the device.

No. Publishing recalled questions breaches the AMC's conditions and would put your candidacy at risk. Ours are produced by us according to the published blueprint, tested topics and reviewed against Australian guidelines.

Twenty questions will tell you more than this page can.
